Books (A Poem)
Books, our greatest companions
What more do we need to become champions?
But we are lost in the oblivion
That their contents are superior to some captions.
Books, you are here to revive the reading culture
So lost has it been that we’ve also lost our nature
To pick a book and clear our horrors
And relieve our generation of future terrors
To this extent, I commend your previous wonders
I cannot tell of the lives you’ve changed so far
And even of the lives you’ve made very bad
But all the same, you’ve left our world an indelible mark
Curious as we are, we run to you
We peruse you even more than we do the moon
Our searchlight is always on like blue
To unravel the mysteries that we can find in you
Till this day, I will always love books
Because they have proven their worth that they are able
To feed me more than even the cooks
But one book is always special and that’s the Bible.
